India World Cup Himanta Sarma Support Team Chin Up Team Bharat

Guwahati: Support for Team India came from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma and other leaders in the state after Australia won the FIFA World Cup for the sixth time, much to the chagrin of Indian fans as they waited for the men in blue to lift the World Cup final trophy. men’s cricket cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

After India’s defeat to Australia in a high-voltage final match, leaders of political parties took to social media to express their solidarity with the Indian cricket team.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium to witness the summit clash, said the Indian cricket team played excellent cricket during the tournament and spread happiness across the country.

After India lost the last match against Australia, he got into X and Chief Minister Sarma wrote, “Wake up Team Bharat! You played excellent cricket throughout the tournament and spread happiness across the country. Today’s performance was also spirited and even though it was in front of the finish line, this team played like true champions. We stand by you, today and always.”

Chief Minister Sarma also congratulated the Australian cricket team for lifting the coveted trophy for the sixth time.

“Congratulations to Team Australia for winning the coveted ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. After initial setbacks, the team really played like champions, powered by Travis Head’s century and a brilliant bowling attack! Congratulations Cricket Aus!,” Chief Minister Sarma said.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sarma exuded confidence that Team India would sail through, powered by their bowling attack, after being restricted to a modest total of 240.

After India’s innings, Chief Minister Sarma wrote, “A tricky pitch and good bowling from the Aussies ensured that Bharat’s score was restricted to 240. However, I am confident that our brilliant bowling attack will dominate the opposition and ensure the coveted CWC 2023 final trophy is lifted!” Come on guys, the whole nation is behind you.”

On the other hand, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that though India could not win the World Cup title, the Indian cricket team has raised the standards of cricket by displaying excellent sportsmanship, skill and teamwork during the matches.

“We remain in complete awe of Team India’s fighting spirit in the World Cup 2023 finals. We lost the World Cup but Team India raised the standards of cricket by displaying excellent sportsmanship, skill and teamwork throughout the matches. Well done guys!,” wrote Chief Minister Sangma on X after India lost to Australia in the final.

Assam Member of Parliament and Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi said the entire nation is proud of Team India and stands with it.

“To our team India, captain Rohit Sharma and his galaxy of stars.” You all shone brightly on cricket’s biggest stage. Today, the whole country stands by you and is proud of who you are and what you represent. You don’t grieve alone, we are always together,” Gogoi wrote on X.

Australia clinched the trophy from India by six wickets in Sunday’s mega clash.
