Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and owner of social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has often had a love-hate relationship with Apple. Musk was seen criticizing Apple shortly after taking over X, but he later also brought up Apple’s continued advertising on the platform as proof that it’s safe for others too.
But more recently, Musk seems to have taken a liking to Apple CEO Tim Cook and the company’s latest iPhone 15 series.
Tim Cook has shared photos of the iPhone 15 Pro Max taken by renowned photographers Stephen Wilkes and Reuben Wu. He wrote: “World-renowned photographers Stephen Wilkes and Reuben Wu show that creativity is limitless with iPhone 15 Pro Max. Their vivid photos feature breathtaking views from summer in Rhode Island to the rest of the world’s Utah deserts. Thank you for showing me your work.”
Musk responded to Cook’s post by saying, “The beauty of iPhone photos and videos is incredible.”
In response to another post about the launch of the iPhone 15 series, Musk wrote: “I’m buying one!
Tim Cook and Elon Musk’s Bittersweet Relationship:
In an interview with CBS’ Sunday Morning last week, Tim Cook said that Apple is constantly evaluating whether it should advertise on X. He said, “That’s something we keep asking ourselves.
He added: “Overall, I think Twitter is an important property. I like the idea that it is for discourse and is a town square. There are also things I don’t like.”
This is not the first time that tensions have flared between the two tech giants. Shortly after the 2022 Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, accusing Apple of stopping advertising on the platform.
In a tweet that month, Musk wrote: “Apple has largely stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate freedom of speech in America?
“What’s going on here @tim_cook?” Musk added.
Tim Cook later invited Musk to a meeting at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, and a hold was reached when Apple decided to continue promoting the X. The Wall Street Journal.
