BEIJING, October 16 (TASR) – Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang held talks with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán in Beijing on Monday.
Li said that the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Hungary has achieved fruitful results in recent years and is a good example of promoting a new type of international relations.
Li said China is willing to align the Belt and Road Initiative more closely with Hungary’s “Opening East” policy and make joint efforts to promote the improvement of continued pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment, finance and other fields.
China will speed up the Budapest-Belgrade railway project and strengthen innovative cooperation in the field of new energy, digital economy and artificial intelligence, the Prime Minister said.
China is ready to work with Hungary to make global governance fairer and more just, Li noted, adding that China’s development is an opportunity rather than a challenge for Europe, a driving force rather than a risk.
Orban said Hungary will continue to actively participate in Belt and Road cooperation, promote connectivity and open cooperation, and oppose separation and isolation.
After the talks, Li and Orban witnessed the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents in sectors such as belt and road cooperation, education, supply, development policies, digital economy and green development. THE END
