Thomson Reuters buys World Business Media

Thomson Reuters said on Tuesday it has acquired World Business Media Ltd., a subscription provider of news and analysis on the insurance and reinsurance markets.

Kenneth Lee Reuters reports: “The London-based company, with approximately 25 employees, will join the Reuters News division of Thomson Reuters. Its products include The Insurer, an editorial and data digital news business, Insurer TV and an events business reaching 45,000 professionals.

“Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

“We plan to invest in this business to increase its coverage and reach, and we believe we will be able to provide our clients with greater value in this sector,” Paul Bascobert, president of Reuters, said in a prepared statement. “
