Turkey's 24 universities are among the best in the world

This is one of the most famous higher education rankings, alongside the Times and Shanghai rankings. And Turkey is not left out…

This year, the QS World University Rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds) selected and then ranked 1,500 institutions based on several criteria, including: academic reputation, research impact, international openness, employment rate, professor/student ratio. The aim? To provide a comparative view of the quality of higher education institutions globally and to help students make informed decisions about their higher education.

Universities were evaluated according to eight criteria, including three new indicators: international research network, professional integration and sustainable development.

Unsurprisingly, Anglo-Saxon universities dominate as they do every year. Also in first place we find MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), followed by the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. Harvard and Stanford rank 4th and 5th respectively. The best university in Turkey ranks 336th.

France, on the other hand, has 36 ranked institutions, and PSL (Paris Sciences & Lettres) is in 24th place. To find all the data, click HERE.

Without disputing their interest, however, it is useful to look at these rankings based on international criteria, which can sometimes be very far from local reality.
