Jos Buttler makes a huge statement about the dropped bowler
Despite Jofra Archer’s prolonged absence from the England cricket team, white-ball captain Jos Buttler remains optimistic about his potential contribution to the team in the coming future. Buttler is excited to have Archer back in action with the team and hopes to see the brilliant right-arm quick back on the field soon.
However, with an ongoing stress fracture in his right elbow, Archer’s prospects of being included in England’s final 15-man World Cup 2023 squad are slim with the tournament starting in less than 20 days. Although he recently returned to the highest level of cricket with the Mumbai Indians in Cape Town, he missed the entire English summer and the Ashes series due to an injury that had been bothering him for some time. According to ESPN Cricinfo, he said:
There is a great duty of care [Archer]. He has been out of the game for a while and is still a young man with a lot of cricket ahead of him. It’s obviously exciting to see him in an England tracksuit and bowling, and while he looks to be going through the motions, he’s generating plenty of speed.
